Meticulously Detailed Maple Leaf Design
Obverse: The obverse features a traditional strike and reverse proof finish, showcasing the right facing image of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Inscriptions include “ELIZABETH II,” “20 DOLLARS” and “2021.” Crafted by accomplished Canadian portrait artist Susanna Blunt, the distinctive royal effigy has appeared on Canada’s coinage since 2003.

Reverse: Centered, and super incused on the reverse, is the iconic sugar maple leaf graphic created by Walter Ott for the Gold Maple Leaf coin in 1979. The Maple Leaf “25” privy mark is located prominently beside the leaf’s gently curving stem. Inscribed “CANADA” and “FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR,” with “9999” flanking the incused leaf. The late Mr. Ott (1920-2020) was the Mint’s Chief Engraver and Director of Art from 1977-1985, and responsible for more than 1,000 coin and medal designs.
