2020 10z Silver Medal Andrew Jackson

$126.28

The United States Mint honours the seventh President of the United States, Andrew Jackson, with this presidential silver medal. The medal is sure to be of interest to students of American history, especially those who are inspired by Jackson’s story of a common man’s rise to the White House. The medal was struck on a 1 oz planchet of .999 fine silver, the same weight and purity of American Silver Eagles.
Moritz Furst designed and sculpted a portrait of President Jackson for the obverse. The right-side effigy shows a man who is confident yet cognizant of the duties before him. An inscription of his name, “ANDREW JACKSON,” joins his title, “PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES,” and date that he assumed office, “A.D. 1828,” on the rim.
Like previous presidential silver medals, this one bears John Reich’s Peace and Friendship design on the reverse. The words “PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP” are integrated among two design elements. The focal point is a pair of clasped hands that represents friendship between the United States and Native Americans. A cuff with three buttons and stripes covers the wrist of the hand that represents the United States,, while the wrist of the hand representing Native Americans is bare.
The experts at Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC) certified that this medal appears perfect under 5x magnification by awarding it their highest grade, Mint State 70. They also designated it First Day of Issue, a certification given only to pieces that were submitted for grading through an exclusive process.
