Few creatures on land or in the sea attract quiet as much love and attention as dolphins. Spinner dolphins are known for jumping out of the water, spinning, and doing flips. These animals have been known to guide ships, protect people lost at sea from predators, and provide other help to humans.
For the second year in a row, the Royal Australian Mint honours these creatures in a bullion series. The 2019 edition honoured the bottlenose dolphin while this one features the spinner dolphin. Part of a mintage of 25,000 pieces, this coin was struck from 1 oz of .999 fine silver. It will arrive in Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
The stunning design shows a Spinner dolphin leaping out of the water against a backdrop of the setting sun. The image is encircled by a rim frame in which there are two sets of inscriptions. One notes the name of the coin, “SPINNER DOLPHIN,” the other its weight and purity, “1 OZ .999 FINE SILVER.”
The Jody Clark design of Queen Elizabeth II shows the monarch wearing earrings, a necklace, and her Royal Diamond Diadem. Along the rim are inscriptions of her name, “ELIZABETH II,” the name of the issuing country, “AUSTRALIA,” the date, “2020,” and the coin’s face value, “1 DOLLAR.”
